COVID-19: A message from our CEO

It’s a difficult time for all of us as we work to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on our communities.

In order to stop the spread of the virus, we are changing the very nature of how we conduct our work with potentially dramatic consequences. Campuses are being closed, travel and events are being cancelled, and most importantly our constituents are looking for support, advice and community.

Just as your classes are moving online, we know that you are looking for ways to continue running your activities and reaching your targets. I firmly believe that now is the time for your engagement efforts to move online. This is the only way to ensure we meet our goals and to offer our community opportunities for sharing, giving and connecting.

More than ever, a willing digital network is the key to effectively connect and communicate with your constituents, to leverage the strength of your network and to bring your community together around a common cause.

That’s why we’re committed to supporting you and your team in this time of uncertainty. Our digital tools enable institutions to quickly switch to an online model for mentoring, engagement and fundraising.

As we all follow the evolution of the virus and adapt our plans accordingly, we are committed to providing you with the tools that you need to continue making a virtual impact:

  1. Go digital in 24 hours: Just yesterday, a school approached us after they decided to cancel their main annual fundraising gala with a weeks’ notice. We were able to step in and within 24 hours, created a Giving Day site for them in order to support them and still meet their fundraising goals. My team is in place to provide anyone that needs a digital alumni network or Giving Day site within 24 hours.

  2. Leverage your community: We’ve put together some practical ways that you can continue to effectively engage and fundraise online.
